Studio 2.14
Conceptual Works - Green Roof/Water Cycle

// A conceptual architectural studio encompassing a water cycle in which all rainfall runoff is either treated or used within the building.

Objectives/Results:
§ Analysis of runoff; its annual volume and pollutant concentrations
§ Creation of a water treatment train which achieves a minimum of best management
   practises for Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD):
      - Removal of 80% of Suspended Solids
      - Removal of 45% of Phosphorus
      - Removal of 45% of Nitrogen
§ Design created in response to site restrictions

Applied technologies:
§ Solid Works 2011 (3D modeling)
§ 3D Studio Max (export of Solid Works models)
§ Google SketchUp (export of stock models)
§ Adobe After Effects (video editing)
§ Adobe Photoshop (manipulation of images/textures)
§ Adobe InDesign (layouts)
§ Lumion (3D rendering)
§ MUSIC (stormwater treatment modeling)

// Construction - Precast concrete paneling within a steel frame, the ground level surfaces clad in plaster with the upper level surfaces left exposed.

// Plan + Elevations

// Floorplans

// Flowchart of the building's stormwater treatment train (an integral part of the building's design) is outlined below.

// The building's treatment train performs well above Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD)
best management practices reduction targets of:
Total Suspended Solids "TSS" - 80%
Total Phosphorus "TP" - 45%
Total Nitrogen "TN" - 45%

// M.U.S.I.C. (Stormwater Quality Modelling Software) Model output detailing the building's performance with regards to the reduction of pollutants within rainwater runoff.

The building's treatment train performance is represented as a percentage reduction in specific pollutants:
Total Suspended Solids "TSS" - 98.9%
Total Phosphorus "TP" - 54.6%
Total Nitrogen "TN" - 82%
